Audrey Hepburn for ‘Funny Face’, 1957.

I saw The Avengers earlier tonight with my friend Cody. Here is what I liked and disliked about the movie:

Likes

  • Robert Downy Jr.—nuff said
  • Mark Ruffalo—super hot, even though he was The Hulk
  • The guy who played Capt. America..can’t think of his name—real cutie
  • Had some really funny parts
  • Easy to follow story
  • Actually had a good fucking ending and didn’t just leave you hanging like most movies these days

Dislikes

  • I’m not really into action movies…..
  • Marvel doesn’t do anything for me…just not my thing
  • Very, very detailed..which could be a good or a bad thing
  • Drawn out too much, I think

Overall, I give the movie 3 stars out of 5. I liked the acting, humor, and story-line..but other than that it was just meh. I am not really into action movies, as I said above, and Marvel comics do not interest me.

I watched this film last night and boy did I need it. Things I’ve realized after seeing this film:

  • Josh Radnor IS Ted Mosby—there isn’t one scene in this film where he isn’t like his character on HIMYM.
  • Everyone deserves happiness and sometimes it’s right in front of us even when we’re not able to see it.
  • I may not be happy today but there is always tomorrow. That being said, I should never let a certain situation keep me from happiness. It’s not worth it.
  • Insecurities can be overcome.

The movie was overall wonderful but, as you can see from the poster, there is a little boy in this film. He indirectly contributes to the aspect of this film and I am so glad this wasn’t another Big Daddy movie. At first I was like “shit, he’s going to take care of this homeless kid and they’ll become like family but then the kid goes away and it’s all sad.” Which, sorta happens but I think the boy represents change, new beginnings, and guidance in Radnor’s character’s, Sam, life. By helping the homeless youth, he ultimately helps himself. Save another to save yourself.

It’s a great film, really, and I hope you all consider watching it. If you like Josh Radnor, How I Met Your Mother, or really cool indie flicks that nobody has probably ever heard because mainstream sucks—you’ll like this.
